The normal natural cycle of life goes : birth, growth, marriage, children, old age, and death. This is the journey that happens to most humans and a major part of this journey is marriage.
But we are coming face to face with newer times , and people are preferring singledom over relationships.
Marriage is an important institution. It has been in society since ancient times and is a societal norm. We gain a companion when we get married, with whom we share the various walks of life. Marriage does bring happiness to many people and gives their life meaning.
However, a new study shows that single people lead more happier and fulfilling lives. The study was presented by Bella DePaulo, the lead author of the study and a scientist at the ‘University Of California, Santa Barbara’.
According to Bella, single people are often victims to stereotypes, stigmatizations, marginalizations, and discriminations.
But single people are actually complete opposites of the stereotypes they are put into, according to Bella. They are often more supportive and caring and make efforts to keep in touch with their families and friends.
Bella also revealed that single people have a more heightened sense of determination than married people. They are more likely to experience prolonged growth and development as a person.
